  • Each subsequent level is placed perpendicular to the earlier level.
  • The wooden blocks are colored.

  • Use a die for generating random colors.
  • A die is a cube. A cube has six faces. Each face of the die has a different color.

How to Play

  • Players take turns rolling the die to decide the color of block which has to be moved.
  • The die chooses a color.
  • The players pick out one wooden block per turn.
  • Try to make sure that the tower does not collapse.
  • Put the block you removed on top of the tower.

Game Rules

  • A player is allowed to remove only one block at a time.
  • A player can use only one hand to remove a block from the tower.
  • You cannot remove any blocks from the first three levels of the tower.
  • You can add the blocks only on top of the first level.

Time Limit

  • There is no time limit to the game.

How to End the Game

  • The game ends when the tower falls.

Who Wins and Who Loses

  • The loser is the player who causes the tower to fall.
  • It may not be their fault, but if the tower falls during their turn, this player is counted as the loser.
  • If the game is played by individual players, there is only one loser, and everybody else wins.
  • If the game is played in teams, then not only the player who causes the tower to fall, but the whole team loses, and the other teams win.

What to Say

  • Before you throw the die, say “I roll the die.”
  • When the die chooses a color, everybody else asks you “What color is it?”
  • So you answer the question. For example, say “It’s red.”
  • Then you remove a wooden block of that color, and you place it on the top of the tower.
  • After you play your turn, open your student book, choose a unit, and ask the next player one question from that unit.
  • Once the next player has answered your question, you say “Next!”
  • The next turn can be played.
